Review of the Bissell Quicksteamer Multi-surface Shampooer

After I woke up one morning to discover the dog had barfed all over my son's carpeted play area (the living room), I started my search looking for a steam cleaner, particularly one that could do carpet. To my disappointment, the only ones on the market are cheaply made and not very effective cleaning tools. So I started looking for a carpet shampooer. I wanted one that could also do tile, dried quickly, and didn't use overly harsh chemicals.

To my amazement I discovered the Bissell Quicksteamer Multi-Surface Shampooer. Basically if you've ever used a Swiffer Wet Jet, it's like that... but on steroids!!!

It has rotating brushes which scrub carpet and tile, uses not very much water (so the floors aren't soaked through), phosphate free chemicals, and was only $99. I read a bunch of reviews, and the majority of them complained that the unit leaked or that it didn't hold enough water to do a large area. Considering the price I was skeptical when I bought it but I'm pleased to say I'm thrilled with the results.

I did my entire large living room area in 45 minutes including vacuuming beforehand (which is recommended, though this unit STILL picked up a huge amount of dirt and hair that the vacuum missed!) and I only had to fill the canister once. My carpets are clean, the water was BLACK when I was done which goes to show how much dirt my vacuum was missing... and the carpets were dry in 2 hours. My tile floors are spotless and it picked up dirt that was mashed in the crevices. I also found it very easy to use and clean. My only complaints would be that 1) the plastic part that covers the rotating brushes is a bit awkward to clean, to run it under water you have to remove the screws, though I managed to get everything out with my finger... and 2) it doesn't do edges or corners very well. It also doesn't come with an upholstery attachment which would be nice, but not a deal breaker for me.

Swagbucks - earn money for searching

I started using this swagbucks tool the other day, and I already have 8 swagbucks. Now to put that into perspective, a new t-shirt runs 99 swagbucks and a new cologne is 400 swagbucks... but I figure if I'm going to search anyway I might as well earn money for it.

I still do prefer to use plain google search especially since I can filter out canadian only results, as the results are usually sponsored and not always exactly what I'm looking for, but for the odd search it's not bad.
